Coffee in the morning

I don’t know about you, but I’m not really myself until I’ve had my caffeine fix when I wake up. Not that I’m Mr. Hyde or a zombie or anything like that. It’s just that my brain cells have to be zapped with caffeine before they can fully function, lol.

I used to have Nescafe instant coffee here, where you had to put some coffee, sugar, add hot water and cream, blah blah. Nowadays I’m just lazy and just buy the premixed 3 in 1 packets. In the late afternoon, I have another fix, and that’s it for me, a maximum of two cups a day. I’d be asking for trouble if I had any more coffee after 7 PM; I’d be tossing and turning in bed.

How about you? It’d be interesting to know how many cups of java you guzzle down every day. Also, here’s some interesting trivia about coffee in the Nescafe website. Lastly, this website, called positivelycoffee.org (heh, I like the name) has great information about coffee, all positive, of course Batting Eyelashes

  1. Thanks for dropping my blogs. Just a word… when one blogs for money from the start, the passion dies fast. Just blog for fun and the money will come later just like mine did.

  2. Thanks for the advice, Samm.

  3. Do you REALLY want to know how much coffee I drink? I mean really what you want to know is how much caffeine right? So how’s this?

I have 4-5 mugs of coffee before I even leave the house in the morning. Then I switch to tea for a 2-3 cups at work. A glass of iced tea with lunch, and possibly another cup of tea in the afternoon.

When I get home from work…all the stops come out. I generally drink at least a complete pot of coffee (12 cup carafe) and sometimes 2 of them. No…I don’t sleep all that well…I wake up very easily but I’m not sure it’s coffee or just my nature.

If I don’t get my coffee I’ve a migraine within an hour or so, and if I sleep late in the morning and don’t wander in for a cup around my “normal” wake up time before zonking out again – I wake up with a killer headache until the levels are brought back up to normal LOL. I’m not a pleasant person without my coffee!

On the few nights I get involved in something and decide to pull an all nighter, figure on at least 1 more complete pot plus a few cups to get me thru the night.

Wonder if anyone can top that one? I live on caffeine. I’m not sure there’s blood in my veins – it’s just coffee.

  4. lol Doris I would be on the loo all day! haha

I have a cup of tea first thing and maybe another around 10, then on to water in the afternoon. I rarely drink coffee, usually if I do it’s because I am a bit tired and I grab an expresso.

Then 14 glasses of wine in the evening! Just kidding by the way :0)

  5. Oooh, Doris, I’m laughing till my side hurts! And Sarah…14 glasses of wine, and I don’t think you’re joking, LOL!

  6. Ohh okay you have me, but it’s 13 actually pffffft whose counting :P

  7. I usually drink a few cups of coffee a day, but sometimes I’ll forget to drink any at all (weekends, usually).

I’m with you, Doris. I can drink coffee late in the day and it doesn’t seem to keep me from sleeping at all when I finally go to bed at 4am.

  8. Thanks for your comments, Doris, Sarah and Jeff. Means a lot to me! And Doris, I hereby crown you Coffee Queen 2008.

  9. Me? Coffee? No way – maybe one cup of something grabbed at Starbucks or McDonald’s after school to re-energize me for the evening activities; but usually – nuh uh. Gets me all jittery, and no way I could sleep like that. I go to bed around midnight and am up around 5:30 so if I had less sleep ‘twould be baaaad. I’m glad tho that you all are making up for my lack of caffeine intake. The coffee industry has no worries here.

  10. Well I need at least a cup every day, otherwise that big headache is going to happen. But I usually end up drinking two cups just for a treat.

  11. [...] a “Bobbing bobcat.” They said I needed to improve but lol, I need to get a cup of coffee [...]

  12. [...] It’s all pre-mixed, ready to drink, just add boiling water. Perfect for lazy people like me. Coffee does make my world go [...]
