The price of petrol (gas to my American readers) will be going up tomorrow, from RM1.92 (US$0.60) a liter to RM2.70 (US$0.83) a liter. Not as much or bad compared to other countries, but this will bound to have a domino effect on the prices of goods
. Glad I’m just driving a Perodua Viva, which is very fuel-economical and it’s a neat compact. I’m not envious of all those other drivers in their fuel-guzzling SUVs and other big cars. This “little” increase probably won’t bother them!

Let’s see…according to my hard calculations 1 Gal US = 3.8 or so L @ .83/L = approx 3.18 per Gallon US. Gas here is almost $4.00 per gallon where I am. Count yourself lucky!
I didn’t know you were a Math wiz too, Doris. What other undiscovered talents do you have, I wonder?
Bet you’re glad you don’t live here. It’s over $10 USD here per gallon. Sucks, especially for the disabled and infirm.
Although the price increase seems to be small here compared to other countries, it has a snowballing effect on the prices of everything else, since the standard of living is not as high here.
We’re bracing ourselves for the prices of goods to increase soon.
